A Howling Good Time
Lydia Caron, Operations Specialist
Julie recently celebrated her birthday with a memorable getaway at Great Wolf Lodge, where family and friends joined her.
Upon arrival, the group was welcomed with playful wolf ear headbands, setting the tone for an exciting experience. Accommodations included a themed bedroom designed to resemble a cozy cabin, making them feel at home in the woods.
Much of the celebration centered around the resort’s indoor water park. Julie and her friends spent hours enjoying the various attractions, from slides to poolside lounging, making the most of the resort's warm atmosphere.
A standout feature of the trip was the group’s private cabana, which had its own fridge, seating, and snacks. This provided a comfortable space to gather, relax, and enjoy refreshments together. Among the highlights were frozen strawberry daiquiris, which offered a refreshing break between water park activities.
Overall, Julie’s birthday celebration at Great Wolf Lodge combined entertainment, comfort, and quality time with loved ones. The trip was paws-itively unforgettable.

Robert’s Latest Work
Lisa Turner, Associate Director
In this month’s issue, we celebrate Robert, the creative mind behind the compelling script “Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper.” Robert blends the brilliant detective Sherlock Holmes with one of history’s most infamous unsolved mysteries – Jack the Ripper. Robert has created a gripping narrative that bridges classic literature and dark historical intrigue. His script reimagines Victorian London as both a playground for Holmes’ unmatched deduction skills and a haunting backdrop where the shadow of the Ripper looms large. The result is a story that feels both familiar and refreshingly bold, appealing to longtime Holmes enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
Adding another layer of excitement to the project, Robert’s script is being brought to life through a table-read featuring a dedicated team of participants. Each member steps into the role of several characters, giving voice and personality to the story in real time. This interactive process brings the script to life, allowing others to enjoy his writing and storytelling in a way you would not experience if you read it on your own. The team is patiently waiting for Robert to write the conclusion to his script because we cannot be left with unsolved mysteries!

Welcoming Spring
I loved driving by Keene State College every Monday morning in late April and watching the snow melt and the flowers, especially the tulips popping up through the ground. On Tuesdays, on my way to do laundry, I looked over at the war monuments on the grounds of the Keene Rec Center and noticed some green things coming up through the soil. So, Sharon and I walked over to Keene State College and admired the tulips.
In June, we decided to take a drive by the Keene Rec Center to admire the beautiful perennial flowers that seemed to have sprouted overnight.
The tulips and perennial flowers take me back to my childhood, when my parents had nice gardens. I remember going to local farms with my parents to buy plants, then watching them plant them. It seems there was always a lot of talk about where the best spot would be to plant this one or that one. Sometimes my parents couldn't agree, so they would put the plants away and try again the next day.
I also remember going to the cemetery to plant flowers on my relatives' graves who had passed away. Last summer, I planted a nice plant on my brother, Kevin's, grave. I probably will do that again this year.
