Becky Takes to the Waves

Sharon Cleary, QA Specialist
Keene, NH

Becky went surfing at Hampton Beach with a group of her peers and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment she woke up that morning, she was filled with excitement and anticipation. Becky had been talking about the surfing trip all week, eagerly counting down the days until the beautiful, warm, sun-filled day in late August finally arrived. When the day came, her enthusiasm was contagious, and she could hardly wait to get into the water.

Once at the beach, Becky embraced the adventure with confidence and determination. She listened carefully to instructions, enjoyed spending time with her peers, and was thrilled to challenge herself with a new and exciting activity. As she rode the waves and felt the ocean beneath her board, her face lit up with joy and pride. Becky loved every moment of the experience, from the laughter she shared with friends to the sense of accomplishment she felt each time she caught a wave.

The experience exceeded all of her expectations. Becky enjoyed surfing so much that she repeatedly expressed a desire to stay in the water and continue surfing for the entire day. Surfing provided Becky with an excellent opportunity to build confidence, enjoy the outdoors, connect with her peers, and create lasting memories. It was truly a highlight of her summer, and she left feeling proud, happy, and eager for the chance to surf again in the future.

An Educational Journey

Steve Nguz, Program Manager
Westbrook, ME

Sean is working hard toward earning a degree through Adult Education in Portland, Maine. By attending classes and staying committed to his education, he is taking important steps toward achieving his personal goals and creating new opportunities for his future.
Going back to school takes dedication, perseverance, and a willingness to keep moving forward, even when the work is challenging. Sean continues to show that commitment through his class participation and determination to succeed.

Each class brings Sean one step closer to reaching his goal, and his hard work is something to be proud of. His journey reminds us that learning and personal growth can happen at any stage of life.

We are excited to celebrate Sean’s progress and look forward to cheering him on as he works toward this achievement. Keep up the great work, Sean!

Celebrating Heritage at the Powwow

Lydia Caron, Operations Specialist
Londonderry, NH

Rolita recently attended a local powwow, an experience that was especially meaningful because of her Native American heritage. One highlight of the day was meeting other Micmac (Mi'kmaq) Indians and learning more about shared traditions and cultural connections. Surrounded by Native American drumming, singing, and traditional dancing, Rolita enjoyed celebrating and honoring an important part of her heritage.

Throughout the event, Rolita watched the colorful dance performances, enjoyed the beautiful weather, and visited local food vendors and handmade arts and crafts booths. A special memory from the powwow was receiving a dancing stick that Rolita's provider purchased. Rolita proudly carried the dancing stick while watching the dancers and taking part in the festivities. The powwow was a wonderful opportunity to connect with culture, meet new people, and enjoy a welcoming community celebration filled with tradition, music, and friendship.

Trish enjoyed her summer to the fullest. In June, she vacationed in New Hampshire, where she saw James Taylor in concert! In addition to the great music, Trish enjoyed a hotel stay and several local restaurants. She also spent some time relaxing at the beautiful beaches.

Then in July, Trish went paddleboarding for the first time. Her love of the water combined with her great balance made her a natural! Trish rounded out her summer with a three-day camping trip on Sebago Lake with her housemate in August.

Trish definitely made the most of the beautiful summer weather while spending time with great friends. She made many wonderful memories this summer.
