Dianne

Ricky Berry, Associate Director
Londonderry, NH

Dianne starts most days eager and ready to go. After eating breakfast, she works on tending to her plants, which involves watering and removing any dead stems that need to be addressed. She has always enjoyed tending to indoor plants and gardening in the summer months when it is warm. Di then enjoys relaxing, usually with her favorite HGTV show, a small craft, or coloring. When she feels up to it, Di also enjoys walking at the Rockingham Mall or going to the local Senior Center, where she has many friends.

Dianne spent the holidays with her housemate. They had the traditional meal for Thanksgiving and then, for Christmas, had a ham dinner with their gifts. The day after was special for Di because it was her birthday! She enjoyed cupcakes to celebrate.

When meeting Dianne, you quickly understand why everyone wants to be around her. Whether she is helping around the house or giving you one of the best high fives you’ll ever have, it is hard not to smile because she is always smiling!

Making friends with Tony 2toes

Danyell Swain, Fiscal Intermediary Coordinator
Plattsburgh, NY

When you jump out of your comfort zone and take a leap into some fun activities, it can lead to some incredible adventures and possibly new furry friends!

Abbie got to meet Tony the Sloth at an exotic animal exhibit. She asked the handler a lot of questions and learned so much from this experience. The handler, Lena the Lizard Lady, wrote on her Facebook page, “Abbie and Tony 2toes Slothman became very close, very quickly.”

Abbie had a lot of fun and said, “This was the best day ever. Even better than holding the baby kangaroo.”

Meow Lounge

Alida Nsabimana, Program Manager
Westbrook, ME

Nicole is an animal lover, and she dreams of working with animals one day. When asked why she wants to work with animals, Nicole shared that she loves getting to know their unique personalities and learning their stories and that sometimes the stories can change your entire perspective about the animals. A lot of people think that animals are food, but Nicole said that instead, we should spread kindness and compassion for animals.

Nicole’s dream is very close to becoming a reality. A month ago, Nicole had an opportunity to visit one of her favorite animal places in Westbrook, the "Meow Lounge.” They work with local shelters. The Meow Lounge a safe, fun, and entertaining environment for cats to spend time with visitors and anybody who’s an animal lover like Nicole. Nicole hopes to join the team and work at the Meow Lounge soon.

Five Guys

John Levasseur, Direct Support Professional
Keene, NH

Robert and I went to Five Guys for a burger and shake. It is Roberts’ opinion that Five Guys makes the best chocolate shake in Keene.

Although they advertise more than 1,000 milkshake combinations, Robert has never tried anything too fancy. He prefers to stick with the old faithful chocolate shake.

Robert enjoys going to Five Guys a couple times a month. He looks forward to a burger and shake after visiting the casino.

Larry

Brooke Johnson, Program Manager
Londonderry, NH

Larry is always up for any adventure and ready to go right away every day. He loves being around people, whether it's enjoying a nice coffee together, going out for a bite to eat, or doing some shopping.

Recently, Larry started creating artwork including paintings, drawings, and coloring with markers and colored pencils. He enjoys displaying his artwork at his home to share with everyone who visits.

Larry also enjoys decorating for the holidays. He was happy to help with the Christmas tree and all the lights hung around the house. He requested several rides to check out Christmas lights in neighboring streets too. Now that Christmas is over, Larry looks forward to helping with the Valentine's decorations!

After Christmas, Larry celebrated his birthday with Chinese food for dinner, chocolate cake, and ice cream. He also received several birthday gifts, including more arts and crafts!

Creativity

Makayla Doyon, Direct Support Professional
Keene, NH

On a cool winter Sunday, Anne and I decided to get creative with some painting. Anne enjoyed adding color to this wooden butterfly.

After their painting session, Anne moved on to create all sorts of interesting structures with blocks. With her favorite music playing in the background, the room was filled with creativity and good vibes.

It was a perfect way to spend the day immersed in creativity while staying warm!
