Ultimate Collector’s Shelf

Lisa Turner, Associate Director
Londonderry, NH

Davis has been hard at work on a woodworking project that’s turning his entire room into a collector’s showcase. Using power tools, careful measurements, and a lot of determination, he’s building a wooden shelf that stretches across two walls! The shelf is custom designed to highlight two of his favorite collections: his brightly colored Hot Wheels cars and his treasured Star Wars memorabilia. Each board has been cut, sanded, and installed by hand, giving the whole project a personal touch that makes the display uniquely his.

What makes the shelf truly impressive is Davis’s meticulous attention to detail. He knew exactly where each item would go, planning out space for every car, starship, and character long before the shelves were even mounted. Rows for Hot Wheels are perfectly spaced, while designated spots for his Star Wars pieces make the room feel almost like a mini museum. As the project comes together, it showcases not just his collections but also his creativity, craftsmanship, and pride in building something meaningful from the ground up.

Finding the Beat

Rhonda Nubuor, Program Manager
Keene, NH

There’s a new beat echoing through the room, and it belongs to Anne! She recently received a pair of bongo drums that are turning out to be the perfect gift. From the moment Anne tapped the top of the drums and discovered their mechanical drum sound and built-in musical tune, she was captivated. The playful tones offer just the right mix of sensory satisfaction and musical fun, an ideal combination for her curious and energetic spirit.

What makes these bongo drums especially fitting for Anne is their durability. Built to withstand plenty of action, they hold up beautifully to her enthusiastic style of play. Whether tossed aside during an exciting moment or picked up for another rhythmic adventure, the drums remain just as lively and sturdy as the day she received them.

But it’s not just the durability or the sound that makes these bongos special; it’s the joy they bring. For Anne, the drums have become a delightful part of her day, offering both entertainment and a chance to express herself through movement and sound. These bongo drums have quickly become a treasured favorite.

Jimmy brings a friendly vibe wherever he goes. He loves pizza, swimming, a good cup of coffee, and sporting events, where he can be found cheering and enjoying the excitement.

A big Ghostbusters fan, Jimmy proudly wears his new Ghostbusters t-shirt and especially likes showing it with his friends. It’s one of his favorite ways to share something he loves.

When Jimmy goes grocery shopping, he’s easy to spot in his police cap. He always smiles, says hello, and gives a friendly salute to people he passes. Those small gestures go a long way and often brighten people's day.

Whether he’s swimming, grabbing coffee, shopping, or sharing his Ghostbusters shirt, Jimmy’s positive attitude, big smiles, and friendly presence make every day a little bit brighter.

The Performance

Richard Berry, Associate Director
Londonderry, NH

Dianne embraced the spirit of celebration through a joyful blend of creativity and an unforgettable night of music and fine dining.

Wrapping gifts and decorating her home took center stage early in the holiday season. With rolls of wrapping paper and hand-picked ornaments, Dianne transformed her home into a cheerful, festive environment.

Adding to her creative repertoire, Dianne spent several days crafting handmade Christmas cards. Each card, personalized with thoughtful touches, reflected her unique artistic flair.

But the highlight of her holiday festivities came during a special afternoon out, a tribute concert paired with a three-course meal. The event showcased striking performances honoring Tony Bennett, Barbra Streisand, and Lady Gaga, capturing the charm and vocal brilliance of each legendary artist. Dianne enjoyed every moment from the gourmet dishes served throughout the afternoon with the people she met sitting at her table to the familiar melodies that filled the venue.

With wrapping paper, handmade art, and musical memories, Dianne’s celebrations this year blended creativity, nostalgia, and pure joy. Now that the holiday season is over, she’s looking forward to taking some well-earned time to rest.

The Magic of Art

After spending 16 years working for Olympia Sports in their warehouse, John was left with a lot of open time in his schedule after the closing of this facility.

As one chapter ends, it allows another to begin. John had the opportunity to refocus his time and energy on things that he loves. He spent more time perfecting his magic tricks! He performed as "The Amazing John" and amazed audiences. Making things "disappear" and "reappear" has long been his specialty!

John also focused his love of creating original artwork into his second career. He attends The Art Department, a studio and gallery in Portland, where he creates art, displays his work, and sells it. He joined a local community art collective, where he comes together with other community artists to learn and create. In addition to The Art Department, John has displayed his original artwork at the Portland Public Library gallery.

He currently has stickers that are on display and for sale at Double House Arts Collective in Portland, Maine. John has sold several pieces of artwork and enjoys reinvesting his earnings into more art supplies and fun activities. He is enjoying his second career exploring his artistic side and making the world a more colorful place with his art.

If you see John's art for sale, be sure to pick up a "John D. Original" for your collection. Much like John, they are one-of-a-kind and bring beauty wherever they go.

The Puzzle Pro

Patrice Aguda-Brown, Home Care Provider

Gregg was absolutely delighted this Christmas! When he opened Jane’s thoughtful gift of two 500-piece puzzles, his eyes lit up with joy. He couldn’t wait to dive in, so much so that he cleared a special spot on his table and immediately began working on the cheerful snowman puzzle.

Each piece he connected brought a sense of accomplishment and holiday cheer, and he found himself smiling as the puzzle took shape. Gregg’s enthusiasm is contagious; everyone around him is envious of his skill and is amazed at how quickly and methodically he puts the puzzle pieces together.

The second puzzle, a stunning scene of a church, might be next on his to-do list. He is saving the “12 Days of Christmas” puzzle for next Christmas. For Gregg, puzzling isn’t just a hobby; it’s a joyful tradition that fills his heart with excitement.
